What a Health Screening Package Actually Includes — and How to Choose

Health screening packages all look similar from the outside — a list of tests, a price, a promise of reassurance. What actually matters is less visible: which tests fit your age and history, and what happens after the results come back.

What a screening is actually for

Screening looks for problems before they announce themselves — blood pressure creeping up, cholesterol drifting, blood sugar edging toward diabetes, early changes a busy life hides. Most of what screening finds is quietly fixable. That is the point: catch things while they are boring.

Why no two screenings look the same

A baseline panel covers the essentials — core bloods and a full review. From there, depth is added where it is warranted: heart, liver, kidneys, thyroid, and cancer markers where appropriate. More is not automatically better; what is worth checking depends on your age, family history and what previous results have shown. That is a two-minute conversation before you book, and we are happy to have it.

What happens after the results

Results should be reviewed with you, not handed back as a printout with asterisks. Numbers need context — a borderline result may be nothing, or the earliest useful warning you will ever get. Every screening here ends with the doctor walking you through what each figure means and what, if anything, to do about it.

How should you prepare for a screening?

Most panels need a short fast beforehand, and it helps to bring past results if you have them — trends tell us more than single numbers. We will confirm the specifics when you book.

Due — or overdue — for a check? See how our screening works, or message us on WhatsApp and we will talk through what is worth checking.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a health screening cost in Singapore? At Belief Medical, screening starts from $95.92 including GST. There are no fixed tiers — what is included depends on your age, medical history and risk, so the panel and its price are agreed with you before any test is done. Every screening includes a one-to-one review of your results with Dr Sam Lua.

Do I need to fast before a health screening? Most panels need about 8–10 hours of fasting beforehand; plain water is fine. The exact preparation for your screening is confirmed when you book on WhatsApp.

How do I decide what to include? Start from your age, family history and what you want to know. The panel is matched to your risk profile when you book, and it can always be adjusted after the doctor reviews your history.
