Earlier is easier.
Some travel vaccinations need more than one dose, and some need time to take effect before you leave. A pre-travel consult a few weeks ahead gives you room to do it in the right order rather than squeezing it in.
A travel consult also covers the things that are not vaccinations — altitude-sickness prevention, food and water advice, and destination-specific guidance aligned with current international recommendations.
A quick check that you are actually due.
Bring whatever record you have, or tell us what you remember. Part of the consult is confirming you need what you are asking for, and that there is nothing that makes it unsuitable right now.
If you are coming in for a screening, routine and travel vaccinations can usually be arranged in the same visit — mention it when you book so we can prepare.
You are told the consultation fee beforehand. Vaccines are charged separately, and the cost is confirmed before anything goes ahead.
Vaccination questions, answered plainly.
How far ahead should I book travel vaccinations?
A few weeks where possible. Some need more than one dose and some need time to take effect, so booking early gives room to do it in the right order.
Can I get vaccinations at the same visit as a screening?
Often, yes. Mention it when you book so we can prepare, and we will confirm what can sensibly be done in one visit.
Do you keep a record of what I have had?
Yes — vaccinations given here are recorded in your notes, and it helps if you bring any record you already have so we can build a complete picture.
How much do vaccinations cost?
Consultations are charged at a fee you are told beforehand, with vaccines charged separately. The cost is confirmed with you before anything goes ahead.
